Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema (* December 19, 1987 in Lyon) is a French footballer (striker) Algerian descent. Currently he stands at the Spanish record champion Real Madrid in the Primera División under contract.

Careers

In association

Benzema was established in 2004 during the current season from our own youth from Olympique Lyon in the 1st Team pulled up and made his league debut on 15 January 2005 against FC Metz. Even before his first Ligator against AC Ajaccio on 4 March 2006 succeeded him in the Champions League game against Rosenborg Trondheim on 6 December 2005 his first European Cup matches. On 13 March 2008 he extended his contract until 2013 with option for a further season.

In the 2007/08 season with Benzema won his team for the fourth time in succession, the French championship, although he March-April 2008 in an inner band fracture in the knee to labor, he was one of the master players. With a total of 20 goals in 30 games, he was top scorer in Ligue 1 king, and had major share in the profits of the championship. On 11 May 2008 he was elected by his professional colleagues in France's Ligue 1 at the "footballer of the year". In July 2009 gave Olympique Lyon's move to Real Madrid known. The transfer fee was initially to 35 million euros . Benzema signed a six-year contract until 30 June 2015.

In the national team

On 28 March 2007 Karim Benzema gave his debut in the French A-national team. At 1-0 victory over Austria, he made the only hit of the game.

At the 2008 European Championship finals, he belonged to the French contingent. Disappointing in the first group game against Romania Benzema played 78 minutes before he Samir Nasri came into play. In the 1:4-defeat against the Netherlands, he was not on the field. In the crucial group match against world champions Italy played by Benzema, but no decisive accents.
