Abbie Cornish Biography
After the first successful roles in Australian television was in 1999 the Australian Film Institute Award for her role of Simone Summers in the NBC series Wildside. Your movie debut was in 2000 in the movie Monkey's Mask by Samantha Lang.
With its critics praised acting performance by Cate Shortland (director and screenplay) film "Somersault - How perfume in the air" (German: Purzelbaum, Salto) was also outside Australia to a wider audience the blonde actress carefully. In "Somersault" played Abbie first time a major role. The Australian Film Institute (AFI) signed the film with 13 "Australian film Oscars", including in the major categories for Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Screenplay. The Institute Critics Circle of Australia (FCCA) awarded the film a few awards.
"Somersault" celebrated in May 2004 on the film festival in Cannes in the Un Certain Regard series premiere. Her second major role Abbie at the side of Heath Ledger in one, directed by Neil Armfield drug-related drama called Candy. The film was at the Berlinale 2006 in competition.
